Annoyed by HTC 8S problems and HTC support I find that is only solution.
Four HTC Windows phone 8S and one problem
My HTC 8S problems started recently when I bought HTC Windows phone 8S (High-Rise Gray) as a gift and immediately I find out that phone has calling issues.
During phone call I couldn’t hear other side clearly, there ware often drops in quality. Sound was interrupted on microphone and on loudspeaker. I tested sound with couple SIM card and it was same result. Software was up to date.
I took the phone to operator who sends it on diagnostic to see if the phone is DOA (dead on arrival) or not.
MMM Agramservis, official Service center of HTC phones for Croatia, said that phone is DOA and approved replacement.
My operator gave me new HTC WP 8S at this one also had same problem. So I repeated process and got third new phone with same problem. After that I got fourth phone, and surprise, surprise it had the same problem.
HTC support: We can help you but not
When I had third phone I contacted HTC Croatia for support and they promised me help. My mobile network operator can only replace me with same phone model who is obviously not working and Service center only say YES or NO to DOA.
HTC customer support said that they will watch my third phone on diagnostics and even replace phone with different model if it was DOA.
Service center described malfunction of third phone as “SW problems” with Windows Phone 8 and approved replacement.
HTC didn’t contact me, so I got fourth phone from operator and contact them.
With fourth HTC WP 8S I didn’t want any excuses, because it was their problem and they promise me help. What they told me shocked me: I was told that they cannot help me and that I need to tell my operator to check with HTC if there are problems with HTC 8S.
Apparently, I contacted HTC technical support (only number and e-mail address that is available on official HTC worldwide page for customer support) doesn’t have connections with HTC marketing and HTC sale???!!!!
Nice solution for customers, quietly brilliant.

I solve my HTC 8S problems by replacing it for Nokia
I bought HTC WP 8S as a gift to person who hadn’t smartphone yet, and who will travel to Australia for a month (for free communication over WLAN).
Date of travel was close, we didn’t wave phone, and didn’t have any support.
Operator offered me another phone in same price range. Unfortunately, HTC 8S was bought cheaper on Christmas promotion witch have ended, and same price range phone meant inferior phone. I took Nokia Lumina 610, who isn’t smooth and fast like HTC WP 8S, but it has one great function: you can actually hear other person talking.
(Here are result of DOA diagnostic – for third phone diagnose is SW problems)
8 times I hat to go to operator to sent phone on diagnostic or for new phone
3 mails to HTC Support
4 phone calls to HTC Support
4 different HTC WP 8S phones
0 solutions from HTC
After all they said that they are happy that I find resolve my problems even if is not HTC. Like if I had any other solutions.
I wonder if there is a problem with whole line of phones, did the HTC contact customers with faulty phone and offered them a replacement.
Complain to HTC is obviously not a solution because it would go to technical support who have no connections with marketing and sales. If you contact them over Facebook same support is replaying.
Fortunately, there is wide space for complaints and it is called internet. Through one month I collected plenty of print screens from Service center and HTC support to support me.
